A Friends Group MUST be registered as a 501(c)(3)

LGCCC - Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission

Click on INITIAL AFFADAVIT AND APPLICATION FOR BIENNIAL REGISTRATION LEGALIZED GAMES

LGCCC's telephone number is (973) 273-8000.

Plan for at least 2 -3 months for processing.

  • The registration form is filled out by an officer of the Friends. There are required pieces of information that must accompany the form and are listed.
  • Mail it back with a check for $100 made out to: “Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission.”
  • THEN WAIT 60-90 DAYS FOR THE REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE AND ID NUMBER TO ARRIVE IN MAIL.

Take the Registration Certificate and ID # to your Borough Clerk who then approves a license for each individual game. Fees can vary by municipality. Oakland's Friends group had two licenses recently for an event: a 50/50 and a raffle. Their license fees were $20.00 each. Again, check with your municipality.

The license is good for two years.

After your raffle event there is a VERY short time period when a report must be sent back to the Gaming Control Commission. The forms are available on the LGCCC website.
