Life Size Jenga

Life Size Jenga

(Grades 5 and up)

Number of Attendees:

This was a drop-in program. 6 or so people per tower could play comfortably. We also had regular sized Jenga on standby in case we had anyone waiting.

7 people attended.

Length:

We collected the boxes we receive our book orders in over the course of several months.

The program was scheduled for one hour. This allowed for a number of games to be played. Keep in mind that you must allow time between games to get the tower set back up again.

Materials:

  • We had approximately 25 boxes of the same size

Description of Program:

We set up an initial tower using the empty boxes. Played with typical Jenga rules. Two staff members present and the participants helped to reconstruct the tower each time it fell over. We discovered midway through that we needed a stool for some of the younger participants to place their box on top of the pile.

Cost:

Free!

Miscellaneous:

Make sure you are in a room with a high ceiling and plenty of room to get out of the way when the tower falls over. Ideally this would be played outside; we moved indoors because of heavy rain and flash flood warnings the night of the event.
