05-19 Accessible Tech Tip

Flyers are by far the number one way libraries promote programming. Whether using Canva or Publisher, we spend hours trying to make each flyer more eye-catching than the next. However, we sometimes neglect to realize that the visually appealing flyer we just made is actually inaccessible to some of our patrons—such as patrons with disabilities or those whose first language doesn't use the English alphabet.
Please see the attached PDF for some tips on making flyers more accessible. With summer programming on the horizon and many flyers to be made, think about some of these suggestions so that your library's materials can reach a greater audience.
