1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Be a part of the national and BCCLS-wide initiative: 1000 Books Before Kindergarten!

The concept is simple, but the rewards are priceless.  Parents visit to their local library to register their infant, toddler, or preschooler.  Then, they start reading!  It's as simple as that.  They present their log at their library once they have read 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, and 1,000 books. Each time they achieve a goal, they get a stamp on the log and a sticker from their favorite librarian.

Any child who reaches 1000 books will have his or her picture taken and posted on the BCCLS website (with parental permission, of course!)  The child will also be invited to a BCCLS-wide party in their honor.

Please join us in making ALL of our children lifelong readers.
