Applied Physics (Dewey 621)
CREW guidelines do not offer a weeding recommendation specific to Dewey 620s. Having researched some policies at other public Libraries the general consensus is X/3/MUSTIE for the applied Physics (this includes electronics, lighting, magnetic, optical, communications, engineering, fans, pumps, tools, as well as steam, hydraulic electrical, heat, machine, and computer engineering). There are many books specifically on wiring and other subjects such as small engine repair, plumbing, or boilers which are old, but not necessarily out of date in terms of information. So I recommend applying the MUSTIE and non-circulating principles to determine whether or not to weed.
Be aware that there are newer editions of code standards books that are not the version adopted by the state of New Jersey. To see a list of adopted codes simply click on NJ Adopted Codes and Standards to be sure to have the latest and most complete information. Because we are not special Libraries, you probably don't have too many items in 621. You may want to consider placing items in other areas of the collection for higher visibility. An example may be moving some computer engineering books from 621 to 004.
