  • Markers
  • Stickers/tissue paper are an additional option

Description of Program:

This is a simple craft to do on its own or in conjunction with a storytime.

It was a well attended event to help celebrate spring. Could be used for any event in need of flowers. (Mother's day / Birthday / Earth Day)

Instructions:

  1. Take Green paper and have children fanfold it. (smaller children may need a hand, you may want a volunteer if doing this with young ones.) Glue “bottoms” of fans to larger sheet of paper, which can be decorated / written on as well.
  2. Can have pre cut flowers, or leave it up to the children to cut their own flowers.
  3. Decorate flowers and glue them onto the fan to fill up the bouquet

Cost:

Free! Could be done with craft supplies you already own, or can purchase colorful construction paper and other decorating supplies.

Miscellaneous:

I held the event as a stand alone spring time craft, but could be used to compliment a story time. Kids liked making up their own flowers and names.

It was a great program, and would do it again for another holiday!
