Length:

How long did you need to prep for the program? Not really prep time!

How long did the actual program take start to finish? 1 hour - 1 1/2 hours

Materials:

  • Elmer's Glue
  • Baking Soda
  • Contact Solution
  • Shaving Cream
  • Food dye

Description of Program:

Kids love to make slime and experiment with making different colors. Making it at the library means less mess at home, and they can make as much slime as they want!

Instructions:

Give the kids bowls, and many of them already know how to make slime. Letting them loose with the ingredients has proven the easiest.

Cost:

  • Baking soda is less than $1, as well as cheaper shaving cream for $1
  • Gallon jugs of Elmer's glue work best at around $13.25 but last forever
  • Food dye $3

Miscellaneous:

I put down green plastic tablecloths in order to make less mess. The teens still preferred working on bare tables, which meant I had to wipe down the tables after.
