Melting Crayon Art

Melting Crayon Art

(Ages 8 and Up)

Items Needed:

  • Box of crayons (preferably for each teen/child)
  • 8x10 canvas (you could get a value pack of 10 at Michaels or AC Moore)
  • Glue gun
  • Blow dryer
  • Newspaper
  • Self-Adhesive Letter Stickers optional

Instructions

  1. Set newspaper along the table you are using
  2. Glue gun the crayons along the top of the canvas
  3. Using a blow dryer melt the crayons – see the result below
  4. If you want to add a personal touch, use self-adhesive sticker to spell your name out across the melted crayon wax.

You could find some other examples on Pinterest, but attached below is how they came out for me and my kids.  I had 4 teen volunteers who wanted to make one of their own, so this program spans ages 8 and up.
